Seventh: Appeals
Article (58):
The Electoral College members shall have the right to appeal against the candidacy of a candidate for acceptable reasons. Such appeals shall be made through the emirate election committee during the period specified by the NEC.
Article (59):
Each candidate shall have the right to appeal against the results of the voting and sorting of ballots by using the form approved by the emirate election committee as per the following conditions:
- The appeal should be submitted within 48 hours from the announcement of the preliminary sorting results in the emirate.
- The appeal should be related to the voting and sorting procedures.
- A deposit of AED3000 should be attached to the appeal and deposited with the NEC. The amount shall be given back to the appellant if the decision is issued in his/her favour and confiscated if his/her appeal has been rejected.
Article (60):
Appeals shall be presented to the Election Management Committee for submission to the NEC for consideration.
The decisions issued by the NEC as regards these appeals shall be final and can by no means be challenged.
Article (61):
Submission of appeals related to voting and sorting procedures shall not prevent the voting centre committee from announcing the votes received by the candidates.
