National Committee Functions

The NEC shall exercise all powers required for supervising the progress of all aspects of the electoral process, including the following:

• Drafting the general framework of the electoral process
• Supervising the progress of the elections.
• Contributing to election-related awareness and enlightenment efforts
• Devising guidelines for the progress of the electoral process
• Spotting the voting centres in each emirate
• Endorsing the organizational procedures for establishing the legal framework of the elections
• Issuing the governing rules for preparing and approving the lists of names of the Electoral College.
